The Elvis Experience

The “Elvis Experience” is a sincere and affectionate tribute to Elvis Presley. Steve van der Valk is a true Elvis fan and his huge respect for the man himself is at the core of the show and which comes over to audiences. The Elvis experience is reinforced by Steve's enormous vocal talent made obvious by his rich Elvis style which very few other Elvis tribute artists in the world can come near to and he knows every note and nuance of the musical arrangements. Supported by the best backing tracks available and in his professionally made costumes Steve transports an audience back in time and creates a show to remember - something very few tribute performers can achieve.music

Part of the show is based on 'That’s the Way It Is' - a concert film of 1970 performances at the Hotel International. It documents the beginning of the Vegas period that lasted up until Elvis's death. Elvis knocked them dead in a white jumpsuit, and generally gave the performances of a lifetime. To many, this show represents Elvis Presley at his peak. - The definitive Elvis performing classics like 'Suspicious Minds' and An ‘American Trilogy’ and incorporating some less well known covers of songs by other artists

Another part of the show is a representation of the 1968 show 'Elvis', recorded in June of that year and aired on NBC-TV. This is now referred to as The '68 Special' or 'The '68 Comeback' In this television special, Elvis played his greatest role - simply being himself, performing his classic rock and pop hits. After this triumph, Elvis returned full-time to the concert stage, beginning a new and exciting era of his career.

In addition to the aboveSteve also recreates the raw Elvis from the 1950's, Singing the songs that exploded Elvis into the world, Such as Don't Be Cruel, Hound Dog and Heartbreak Hotel. Also the great songs from Elvis's film career, Viva Las Vegas, Blue Hawaii and GI Blues.

This format allows Steve to cover classic hits from every phase of The Kings' career from the fifties onwards and encapsulates all that was, and is, the very best of the King, Elvis Presley.
